BC Provincial Nominee(BC PNP)


Basic application requirements:


1. If the applicant is a business owner, financial statements for the last three years and proof of work management experience are required


2. If the applicant is not a business owner, three to five years of management experience is required (a letter of recommendation from a Chinese employer is required)


3. 15 years of educational background is required (academic certification is required)


4. Enough money to cover the family's living expenses for the first year of settlement in Canada (CD$50,000 or more)




B.C. Nominee Immigrant Investor Category and Requirements


All applicants must own at least 1/3 of the business and provide ongoing and active management of the day-to-day operations and direction of the business. They must also meet the other requirements of the selected business immigrant category listed below:




I. Business Skilled Category


Applicants in this category can operate a business anywhere in B.C. and must: have a legally acquired net worth of at least $800,000. Invest at least $400,000 in the creation or purchase of a qualifying business in B.C. and grow and expand it. Provide at least three jobs for Canadians or permanent residents through the operation of the business.




Regional Business Category


This category limits the location of the applicant's business to specific areas and is designed to promote economic development in those areas. Applicants must: Have a legally acquired net worth of at least $400,000. Invest at least $200,000 outside of Metro Vancouver to create or purchase a qualifying business and expand it. Provide at least one job opportunity for a Canadian or permanent resident through the operation of the business.




Strategic Plan Category


The Strategic Plan category is reserved for foreign employees who assist foreign businesses coming to B.C. to conduct business. These employees must be key management personnel, or skilled professionals, and enter the country for a specified period of time. Each company may bring a maximum of five employees as applicants for this category.




Companies applying for this category must


Invest a minimum of $500,000 CAD.


Provide at least 3 jobs for native Canadians for each applicant in the category, based on the number of applicants in the company's name.


Provide a proven track record of business operations, along with information about the successful operation of the business outside of Canada.


Create or purchase a qualifying business and expand it.


Register the planned business as a B.C. or foreign incorporated business.


Provide information that the applicant is a senior employee and why he or she has contributed significantly to the establishment and growth of the business.




For the Investment Program (form below), applicants must have at least $800,000 in personal assets and be willing to invest $400,000 to establish a business in the Vancouver area, or $400,000 in personal assets and be willing to invest $200,000 to establish a business outside of Metro Vancouver and Abbotsford. The B.C. government will grant the applicant's family permanent residency in Canada after the establishment of such a business.
