Alberta Immigration Advantages




1. Alberta is the fastest growing province in Canada, with the youngest average age of the population and the highest level of education. Alberta's workforce is well-educated, skilled, productive and highly motivated, with 48% of the employed population holding a university degree, post-secondary diploma or professional certificate and 60% of Alberta's population having had a secondary education. 2.


Elberta's cities are among the most cost-competitive in the world in terms of business operating costs. Of the 63 cities surveyed by KPMG, Edmonton (Edmonton) ranked 2nd and Calgary (Calgary) ranked 7th as the best cities for many companies to choose their headquarters.


3. rich in minerals, oil and gas, agriculture and other resources.


4. no retail tax (the only Canadian province without such a tax).

6. Alberta residents pay 20% less in provincial and local taxes than the average Canadian resident.

Providing the most competitive corporate and SME tax rates, Alberta reduced the general corporate income tax rate from 28% to 21% and the general and manufacturing tax rate from 8% and the SME tax rate from 4% to 3%, effective April 1, 2004, and plans to increase the SME size cap from $350,000 to $400,000. The maximum size of small and medium-sized enterprises is also planned to be increased from the previous $350,000 to $400,000.




Alberta nominated skilled immigrant requirements




1. A full-time permanent job must be obtained and the job must meet the NOC 0, A, B categories and the Alberta wage scale.


2. Demonstrate a desire to settle in Alberta.


3. have the relevant education, training, work experience or required certification for the position being filled.


4. Provide a work permit if already working in Elberta, or proof of legal status in the country of residence if outside of Canada.


5. A Labour Market Opinion (LMO) issued by Human Resources Canada is required. If the applicant is exempt from the LMO, documents are required to prove eligibility for an LMO exemption.


6. If applying as Plasterers, Drywallers, Upholsterers, you must provide proof of at least 48 months of relevant work experience.


7. If applying as an Early Childhood Educator and Child Care Worker: Employer requirements: Must be accredited by the Early Learning and Care Services Association of Alberta or approved for funding under the Alberta Early Childhood Care Certification Grant Program, or have submitted an application.


There are different rules and incentives for specific jobs such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, cooks, pastry chefs or service caterers.
